Happy Birthday Ashtanga Yoga Victoria! It has been a fabulous year!

Now it is back to School & back to our regular early Morning Practice! It has been a beautiful summer, and we are gearing up for another fantastic year, filled with New and Exciting changes. We hope you will continue to be a part of them along with us!

We hope you all have enjoyed a great summer, and have had some wonderful warm holidays!

September is a great time to recommit to your Ashtanga Yoga Practice, and we look forward to seeing many new and old faces during the months ahead!

OUR BEST to NIKKI PICHERT!

AYVic was sad to say goodbye to one of our very first students this week. Nikki Pichert is a very dedicated student of Ashtanga Yoga, and we were all fortunate to have her teach this summer!

Nikki has accepted a great job teaching yoga at the Samudra Yoga & Surf Retreat Center in the beautiful Margaret River region of Western Australia.

Congratulations Nikki! We wish you all the best, and look forward to having you back at AYVic soon!

Your sunshine and laughter in the morning will be missed!



A BON VOYAGE PARTY FOR DARCY & RACHEL!


On Saturday September 4th, AYVic will be sending off two very dedicated students, Rachel and Darcy, as they venture to Mysore, India, the birthplace of Ashtanga Yoga, to practice with Sharath Jois for 3 months!

Everyone is invited to drop by the Fernwood Inn any time around or after 7 pm to say 'Bon Voyage' to Rachel & Darcy before they head off on their Big Adventure!

They would be happy if you would join them for either some eats, a drink, or just a quick "hello-goodbye" visit.

Congrats to the first AYVic - Yoga Education Graduates!

This August we held the very first Ashtanga Yoga Victoria Yoga Education & Apprenticeship Program.

We are happy to congratulate our 5 graduating students: Leah Moroz, Sarai Gat, Pat Copping, Michelle Pichert & Nikki Pichert.

They have done a wonderful job assisting in the Mysore room this past month, and are becoming well established in their teaching.

We wish them all the best as they continue to grow in the practice and learning of this life-long path!

"Yoga is not physical, very wrong. Hatha Yoga can indeed be used as external exercises only, but that is not the ultimate benefit of Yoga.

Yoga can go very deep, and touch the soul of man. When Yoga is performed in the right way, over a long period of time, the nervous system is purified, and so is the mind.
