Participants of this Ashtanga Yoga Intensive will learn safe and effective ways to move in and out of the postures, as well as how to instruct others through verbal cues and hands-on adjustments.
Overview:
This course is a 7 Day Intensive detailing the application and method for the practice and teaching of Ashtanga Yoga.Areas of Study:
- Opening and Closing Mantras
- Sanskrit names for postures
- Correct Vinyasa counts
- All Primary Series postures
- An introduction to the philosophy and history of Ashtanga Yoga
- A look at the practicalities of teaching
- Ethical considerations when teaching
- Health concerns and therapeutic benefits of the postures
- Special cases such as pregnancy, aging, and rehabilitation
- Practical Hands-On Experience with Adjusting Postures
- Practical Experience with leading group classes
**Practicum Assisting Hours will be spread out over several weeks to allow for more flexibility**
