Travel to Victoria BC is easy, definitely easier than India!
Here are some suggestions on ways to get here, how to get around, and where to stay, and things to do while visiting and practicing with us!

Travel to Victoria BC by AIR


A number of major airlines fly directly to the Victoria International Airport.

The Victoria International Airport is 16 km north of Victoria on Hyw. 17 (Pat Bay Highway). It is about 2 km south of Sidney by the Sea and about 7 km south of the Ferry Terminal at Swartz Bay.

Victoria International Airport to Downtown Victoria:

1) Rental Cars: There are 4 on-airport rental car companies, which have counters located in the Arrivals area directly across from the Information Desk, and 3 off-airport rental car companies, with whom you can pre-arrange a car pick-up with.

2) Akal Shuttle Bus will take you to downtown Victoria for $18/adult (or $11/person if you come in a group of 4 or more).

Yellow Cab Taxis are also available from the airport to downtown Victoria for about $54.00.

3) BC Transit makes a limited number of trips per day in each direction between downtown Victoria and the terminal building. From the airport you take bus #83 to the “Royal Oak Exchange” and then transfer to either bus #70 #72, #73.

Other Air Options

There are a number of smaller airlines and Float-Planes that travel to Victoria from Vancouver, Richmond, Whistler, and Seattle.

Float Plane Companies include:
West Coast Air
Harbour Air
Kenmore Air

Helijet Airways also flies from Vancouver Horbour or Vancouver International Airport to Victoria.

Some Float-Planes land in the heart of Victoria's Inner Harbour.
The Helijet landing pad is 5 minutes from downtown.


Travel to Victoria BC by FERRY BOAT


BC Ferries route: Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay (vehicles & driver, passengers, motorcyles, bicycles).
The boat ride takes about 90 minutes.
The drive from Swartz Bay to downtown Victoria is about 40 minutes.

There are several Buses that will take you directly from downtown Vancouver to downtown Victoria.

Coho Ferries route: Port Angeles, Washington to Victoria BC. (vehicles & driver, passengers, motorcyles, bicycles).
Trip takes about 90 minutes.

Victoria Express route: Port Angeles, Washington to Victoria BC. (This is a passenger only catamaran).

Victoria Clipper route: Seattle Washington's Pier 69 to Victoria's Inner Harbour. (This is a passenger only catamaran). Trip takes about 2.5 hours.

Washington State Ferries Route: Annacortes Washington to Sidney B.C.
This ferry takes a leisurely trip through the beautiful San Juan Islands.
Total trip time is about 3 hours.
The drive from Sidney to Victoria is about 20 minutes.


Places to Stay when you Travel to Victoria BC


All listed accommodations are close to the Fernwood Area.
They are between a 20 - 30 minute walk to the center where Ashtanga Yoga Victoria holds morning Mysore classes.

Getting around the City


One of the many great things about Victoria is that you can walk to most places! It is a beautiful city to meander through.

Renting a bicycle, scooter, or motorcycle can also be a nice way to see the city. Here is one option:
